Each Zero Waste Bag is opened upon receipt and visually inspected for any non-compliant materials, then consolidated for processing in bulk.

Capsules are shredded and screened to separate coffee grounds. Separated coffee grounds are then bulked and composted. The remaining screened materials are cleaned in temperature-regulated water baths with agitation and surfactants to remove coffee residues and other contaminants.

Metals are then removed through electrostatic separation. Sorted metals are then smelted and formed for use in secondary metals manufacturing. Clean plastics are mixed with other plastics to make recycled plastic blends that are then used by various manufacturers to make new products.
